1932 Replica First Release · two real specimens — Insert reference (1990)
Two distinct First Release specimens, kept separate in the photo captions. Specimen A: only month D (April) is legible; the year numeral is not. Faint or incomplete Zippo date strikes are collector-documented, including late-1980s/early-1990s examples. This does not prove a company-wide period-specific defect, a particular year or counterfeit status. The 1988–mid-1992 First Release case production period offers context, not a verified insert date. Specimen B: July 1990 according to the collection record. The “1932” model name does not indicate the production year.

Dating caution. A Replica name refers to the reproduced design, not necessarily the year this example was manufactured. Case and insert can have different manufacture dates; inserts may have been replaced. A single feature does not establish authenticity.
